When the Marshins from Mars visited a desolate Earth in the Year 4029

I wrote this fiction in June 2013 when I was 12 years old and in middle school. Our science teacher asked us to write an essay on how to know how we (human beings) lived if we became extinct. Here was my essay: In the year 4029, the whole human race was wiped out due to a collision involving the planet Earth and Mercury. There was a huge explosion combined with high levels of poisonous gases, including carbon monoxide. Every living being died. Animals, human beings, fishes, birds, ants and everything was gone. Marshins from Mars heard and felt the vibrations and asked, “What was that?” Then one replied, “Perhaps a BIG BOOM.” So they left their planet and started to explore the Galaxy. Since the planet Mars is Earth’s neighbor, it wasn’t hard for them to find the destroyed planet. They landed on Earth. And, then started to explore. They came across a library. But, they didn’t know it was called a library. Astonished, one of the Marshins said, “those humans were quite smart.” His
